Haitong reinforces position at Empark

Empark, the Iberian leader and one of the leading European car park operators, is undergoing a shareholder restructuring

Empark, the Iberian leader and one of the leading European car park operators, is undergoing a shareholder restructuring. Assip SGPS strengthens its position from 50.3% to 78% of the capital and Haitong emerges as the new partner with 14%. Haitong Bank had inherited from BESI the management of a fund which held 8% of Empark. In the recent moves, the fund took advantage to strengthen to 14%, a decision that may be seen as another sign of the interest of Chinese conglomerates in strengthening exposure to the European market. A third shareholder is the fund TIIC - Transport Infrastructure Investment Company which maintained its 8% position.
