Chairman of Haitong Bank present at a roundtable on the Financing SMEs

The roundtable on Financing SMEs in Global Value Chains took place on the 31st of May, in Paris

Building on earlier work undertaken during the Turkish G20 Presidency last year, BIAC convened a roundtable on Financing SMEs in Global Value Chains, co-hosted with the OECD, B20 China, World SME Forum, and SME Finance Forum.

The purpose of the Roundtable was to identify synergies between the various recommendations of the B20, analysing how they can support the financing of SMEs in global markets. Business leaders and government representatives discussed the opportunities and challenges associated with issues such as the digital era and digital security, financial innovation, financial inclusion, green finance and financial regulation.

These issues will be developed in a forthcoming publication which compiles the views of key speakers in the forum, among them, Hiroki Miyazato, Chairman of Haitong Bank, next month, in contribution to the G20 Leaders’ Summit in September.
