Haitong International wins two awards in the "2016 Brokerage Selection" of Asian Currency

Haitong International won in the categories of "Best Integrated Research and Sales" (ranked 6th) and "Japan - Best Integrated Research and Sales" (ranked 9 th)

Haitong Bank is pleased to announce that one of the companies in our Group, Haitong International, has won two awards in the "2016 Brokerage Selection" of Asian Currency, including "China (A & B Share) - Best Integrated Research and Sales" (ranked 6th) and "Japan - Best Integrated Research and Sales" (ranked 9 th).

Haitong International used the momentum of the acquisition of Japaninvest, in March 2015, and constantly improved its equity business platform.

Northeast Asia's stock market research coverage has increased significantly, from 49% last year to 70% now, covering Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the United States of America and other major market index constituent stocks. In the first half of 2016, HI had additional 50 new Institutional Clients, and a total of 1600 global research roadshows.

The outstanding performance of the research team continued gaining the industry's recognition. Mark Brown, an analyst who moved to Haitong International Stock Research division of Tokyo in September, won in  the "2016 Thomson Reuters StarMine Global Analyst Awards", the Japanese real-estate industry's "Best Stock Selection Analyst”, and was the No.1 in the Top 10 Comprehensive Stock Picks Analysts".

Earlier this month, the "2016 China Offshore Fund" event, organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Fund Industry Association and Bloomberg, awarded the "Best Research Support" award to Haitong International. HI had already won the “Best Research Support” award in the 2015, making this 1st place achievement, two years running.

Haitong Bank is also proud to announce that  Haitong International is the only Chinese financial institution able to squeeze into the top 10 list in the recent Asia (excluding Japan) dollar junk bond issuance underwriters list. Not only demonstrating its strength and growth but proving an exponentially increased ranking, going from 22nd to 6th.

Large Chinese banks are currently challenging those huge global investment banks in Asia in the ex-Japan dollar bonds underwriting market, now earning huge commissions and even starting to surpass the latter. Now, those global investment banks have needed to begin to focus on higher yield debt issuance market, in order to compete with already prepared groups, such as Haitong Group.
